New factory replacement rear main seal kit. Quanity (1). This 8-piece kit is made from neopreme. GM used an inferior rope seal that did not hold up to abuse or high oil pressure. When the rope seal breaks down and fails, it quickly causes a painful leak. What's even worse, the particles end up in your oil pick up tube and ultimately creates restriction.
Fun Fact: Some builders like to use the rear main caps seals with the pins and others prefer to fill the void completely with high temperature RTV only. Both methods work fine when performed correctly.
For best results, always make sure both surfaces are clean and true.
